Lake or puddle

Is it a lake or a small puddle? One of the things I like about photographs is that they can distort reality. This is only a small area of water caused by melting snow and non-stop rain, with ice still left on the ground underneath the water, but it looks much larger. And also feels that way when you're wadding through it!
