What a grey day

Snow has given way to rather sultry weather. Interviewed a fellow this morning who, unrelated to the article I'm going to write, received his CBE from Prince Charles at Buck House in December, or possibly November. Royal sticklers need not correct....

He declared Charles to be a thoroughly nice chap. Apparently he sat through the ceremony in the front row and saw Charles being up close and personal with all the gong recipients in a very genuine way. My old man met and entertained Charles 25 years ago in Africa and said the very same thing. It might even be true.... *gasp*.

Stopped off at the canal for some pix on the way home. This is one of the raised viaducts which in nearly 20 years in Edinburgh I've never visited. Although temperatures were up to 10C, it was still pretty frozen.
