Scratty signs of spring continue

This is one of two primroses out in the garden today. I say 'garden', but one of them is growing between the tarmac drive and the old wall, but is tiny. There is also a patch of snowdrops whose buds are just showing touches of white, so they may get blipped by this time next week. I photographed all three, but liked this one best, because of the variety of colour in the surroundings.

The flower is a bit tattered and soiled by the rain and wind, but just look at that new young leaf! That colour isn't called Spring green for nothing! And the bloom itself seems to personify determination, survival and optimism: an encouraging sight this bleak day.
After late yesterday afternoon's blue sky and sunshine, we're back to rain, wind and colourless sky today. At least it's mild.
