The stuff of legends

Due to the horrendous weather, gale force winds and torrential rain today was not a day for straying too far from home, which is precisely what I did. This is a statue commemorating Jim Clark which is in the neighbouring village of Kilmany, where he was born in 1936. Jim was British Formula One driver. who twice won the world championship in 1963 and 1965

His career was cut short when he unfortunately died in Hockenheim in 1968.

The race tracks and lifestyle experienced whilst travelling around the world would have been a far cry from the quite country lanes surrounding this small village on Fife!
