Baloo and the 3 Rescues

Afternoon Walks

I'm not working this weekend, so I made the most of it and had a 2hours long nap this afternoon. When I woke up I took the boys for a walk. Baloo is still not quite a year old, so he doesn't walk as far as Paddington. I usually walk Baloo first: We've been working on stopping him from lunging and barking when he sees other dogs and he's really improved a lot!

I then take Baloo home and fetch Paddington for a longer walk. Paddington used to lose his mind when he saw cars driving past and I had a terrible time trying to hold him back. I'm proud to say that repetition, consistency and positive reinforcement have paid off: Paddington still doesn't like motorcycles, but he doesn't even bother looking at cars anymore and has become an absolute pleasure to walk.

By the time I have them both home, I'm exhausted and their energy levels are under control. They usually cool down in their little pool outside, have dinner and then crash in front of the tv for the rest of the evening.

The biggest upside to all this walking is the fact that I manage to get a whole lot of excercise, while doing something I really love, in the company of the two little monsters I really love. Everybody wins...:)
