Fast Water

Its a lot milder. So the snow and ice is melting fast. Result.....flooding and very fast flowing water. Streams become mini-rivers which become torrents with - in this photo - the water in a real hurry.

It took 3 attempts to get to our usual Sunday morning walk today. 2 access roads were closed due to flooding. Our friends have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so could get through. We navigated to a different access point which, thankfully, was not flooded. Once out walking, a lot of the paths had been destroyed by floodwater pouring down hillsides. At least the water flowing in the photo was simply a stream that normally flows gently along but which was today turned into a fast torrent of water.

Could use a few dry days now for the flooding to subside to avoid affecting the homes of those who live in flood-risk areas.
