Ridiculously chocolatey cake
Today I decided to practise baking my Mum's 60th brithday cake. I have always wanted to be able to make chocolate flowers and today I finally taught myself how to do it. I also tried a new cake recipe and made ganache icing for the first time.
I spent pretty much the whole day in the kitchen making the chocolate for the roses, the 2 cakes to stack together and the icing before finally assembling it all. I also managed to make a beef cobbler for dinner.
I am shattered now but I am so pleased with the cake. Now I just have to repeat it all again later in the week. The final cake will have dark, white and milk chocolate roses hopefully.
I'd better go and taste the cake now, just to make sure it's ok :-)
