Göteborg Postcard 2

Arrived yesterday on a ludicrously early flight from Prestwick. We had to leave the house at 4am so we flaked out pretty much as soon as we got here. Our first real impressions of the city were after dark when we surfaced. It's really a pretty place- but especially at night. All the public buildings are really well lit up - maybe the Swede's compensating for short daylight in the winter.

Spent today relaxing and wondering around. It's supposed to be really expensive here - but to be honest I can't see that it's any more so than Scotland. Generally very chilled out, civilised, clean etc. Later on - even with a Friday night in full flow - there was no hint of aggro. (I'll bet Bathgate will be like this soon if the government continues the anti-drinking campaigns).

Anyway - planning to go on a boat trip tomorrow to some of the islands and a fireworks display on Sunday.
