They must have known ...
The day we were marooned in Binalong Bay. We should have left today for Launceston and a flight back to Melbourne but Binalong Bay was cut off from the outside world by floods - no doubt connected to the same system that had been affecting Brisbane. The area around St Helens received 11" of torrential rain and bridges were over-topped and causeways flooded and roads washed away and trees brought down.
All a bit scarey. We were at least able to stay an additional day in our rental and were able to eek our food out a little bit. Other food was brought into the other people evacuated from the campsites up the Bay of Fires by boat from St Helens to the Fire Station which was the evacuation centre across the road from us.
So not only was tomorrow postponed, but today was as well.
