Shadows
Eschscholzia californica
This rather battered Californian poppy caught my eye in the rock garden today. I liked the shadows it cast on the lichen encrusted rock.
The rock itself is interesting. I bought it, along with three others, at a country fair many years ago. At that time all my rocks were clean and the lichens were a novelty. Fortunately conditions here suit them and the lichen has continued growing. And my once clean rocks now have a variety of lichens.
Progress is slow. I just want to be well and get on with things, but I don't have the energy.
