Eye of the beholder

A 3 hour walk around Culbin Forest this morning was a great way to spend a Monday morning. Spring is on it's way with bird songs slowly beginning to fill the air once more. We were in for a treat today; Long Tailed Tits, Coal Tits, Goldcrests, Blue tits, Treecreepers and Crested Tits, sadly no Crossbills but I will one day see them again I am sure. In amongst the birdwatching the wee dog featured in my first blip decided to go exploring without us. It just so happened that where he dissappeared there was an old tree stump with this fungus growing from it. After snow being on the ground since November it was pleasing to see some life returning to the forest.
