Cutting Edge
In my seventh week of blipping, I finally got to leave Bradford District for the day, to run a workshop in Sheffield. This image is probably becoming a Sheffield cliché, but Cutting Edge is an impressive installation, and makes a fine entrance to the city from the train station.
Sheffield are to be congratulated on their bold transformation of their public realm over the past few years, of which Sheaf Square is just one example. I hope Bradford's City Park can produce at least something of a similar effect when it is complete.
I did take some more creative images of the steel-water-light effects today (and previously), but I've gone for the simple, dramatic wide shot. Sunshine and blue skies show the sculpture off to best effect, although I've heard it's impressive at night time.
