If a job's worth doing...

I think the great philosopher H.J. Simpson's version was more like, "If a job's worth doing, it's worth getting out of."

I have a lot of time for those who don't just do their job, but do it well.

I remember, after giving a talk once, a young guy saying to me, "Why do you go to such an effort, when you could get away with so much less?"

I think, like most of us, I have a pretty healthy lazy streak. But I think that's balanced by a desire to do certain things very well.

Even if that means not doing everything.

So here's to doing less, but doing it well.
