East Fork San Juan River, Pagosa Springs

Last night we soaked at the beautiful hot springs resort at Pagosa. Watching the sunset from a 103 degree (40 c) sulphur pool was magical, if a little crowded. Arthur and Kathryn decided to soak in the morning and take their rental skis back. They headed home before we did. Joseph and I went to another new spot to ski for an hour. The East fork of the San Juan is groomed for snowmobilers, but we were alone early in the morning. I had only my second fall on the way back to the parking lot and it was a hard one. I could not stop on the ice.

Another soak before leaving soothed my sore muscles. Then a buffalo burger at Kip's Cantina and a journey though the Jicarilla Apache reservation and on to our home in Corrales.
