Sissy
That is what my younger sister calls me. Tonight I took her out for her birthday that was on the 15th. She has always preferred to celebrate her birth"month" rather than just the day so we spread it out. She is 29 this year.
We are two people quite alike, but two people very different.
One thing that I am certain will always be the same is our ability to make each other laugh. If it is just smirking at each other during a laugh attack when we worked together, or finding a way for her to re-dump a boy that dumped her so she has the "upper hand", or just acting out several ways that a notebook the size of a gift card would be funny to pull out in a business meeting...we laugh.
For all the things that we share - same high school, same sports teams, same college, same study abroad program, same first jobs in the same city, same desire to move and settle back near home...we have done each our own way. My sister will never be me and I will never be her, but that is how it should be. She got the strengths I didn't and I got the ones she missed, but we both got a little of the crazy and that's what will always make us laugh. Happy birthday little sissy.
