A blast from the past
Today whilst walking through the dunes above Newburgh beach I came across this old World War 2 sea mine. Interesting to think that it has been floating about the North Sea, or rolling over the sea-bed, for the last 70 years. The mine looks safe now, the casing is full of holes, the horns (detonators) have long since broken off and the round hatch on top of the mine is gone.
