Australian grass

... is not like British grass. It's no wonder the Australians find it hard to play cricket against us. Just look at the standard of backyard grass they have to learn the art of batting on. You have to feel sorry for them I suppose ... but I won't!

On top of the long blades and the sponginess it also has runners that seem to sprout and run across the surface making it difficult for spinners to know what they're doing ... and then be able to replicate it. Presumably Shane Warne didn't have a grassed backyard.
