A Place of Safety . . .

I went for lunch today with good friends whom, although they live nearby, I hardly ever see. It's so sad, because we get on very well and have lots in common, not least a love of cats.

They have four cats, three of which are Burmese x Siamese. This pair are Mack and Dora. When they hear strangers' voices they leap up on top of the kitchen cupboard, a good high vantage point! Within minutes they were down being fussed over and then stealing the best seats in front of the fire! Typical cats. We had a super meal and a lovely relaxing afternoon. It was really difficult to drag myself away, it was so cosy!

Back home, Mr P has brought the boxes down for me to pack away the Christmas decorations for another year. Feeling sad that this is the end of the holidays. Everyone will be back at work on this week, and folk who were up here for the holidays will be going back to their own homes.

I have caught up with so many folk over the last few weeks and it has made me realise how lucky I am to have such good friends. There just isn't the time to see each other when we are all back into the routine of work and day to day life. Must make more of an effort!

Roll on retirement!
