The Wise Men

Today is a very special day in our house, Nollaig no Mbhan or Women's Christmas.
A day when women take a deserved rest after all the Christmas and New Year chores, and men do all the cooking and pampering!!.
Liturgically, this is reputed to be the day the Wise Men, The Magi arrived from the East in Bethahem to honour the new born infant, bringing gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
Noo's version of the current events, has the wise men going in the opposite direction from the West bringing gifts of Clean water, Seeds and Farming knowlwdge. The latter gifts make great sense to me as those helping with the first stages of development, in Malawi
