Rule Brittania!

As you can see, the last 99 years have taken their toll on the old girl. I wonder what it has been witness to over the years? To be fair, the last 50 have been in a box so it has a lot to catch up on.

This one has George V on the other side with inscription "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA BRITT OMN REX FID DEF IND IMP" which those of us who can't read abbreviated latin means "George V, By the Grace of God, King of all the British Territories, Defender of the Faith, and Emperor of India". All that on a penny!

Noticed the 2011 macro challenge this week so thought I'd stick this on. Actually did another closer up one with a jewelers eyepiece "sticky back plastic'd" onto the lens a while back. Penny
