The flat lands flashing past

Taken out of the open window of an intercity 125 (the old diesel sets that have been modernised by East Coast and still ply their trade between London and Aberdeen having first been introduced on the east coast mainline when I was at University 30 years ago) trundling rather than flashing through southern England.

Returning from what was a very fruitful trip to London in every respect except that I pinged my calf muscle late last night walking from Kings Cross to my hotel. The perils of having a dodgy knee. If you don't walk properly you are constantly in danger of pinging your calf muscles. It happened last time my knee was this bad. Grrrh.
