Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau The Welsh National Anthem

Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is the Welsh National Anthem The Land Of My Fathers.

This wonderful statue is located in Ynysangharad Park Pontypridd south Wales and is dedicated to Evan James (1809 - 1878) and James James (1833 - 1902) Farther and son who wrote the words and tune to the Welsh National Anthem in 1856.
It was entered in the National Eisteddfod in Llangollen as 'Glanrhondda' in 1858 and was given more prominence at the Bangor Eisteddfod in 1874. The song has been adopted as a true expression of Welsh national identity ever since.

You can hear the anthem on Friday the 4th Feb 2011 at 19:45 when Wales take on England the Old Enemy at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and I have a ticket to see this fantastic Rugby match.

Wales and England have been playing Rugby against each other since 1881 a total of 119 games England have the upper hand of 54 to 53 soon to be 55 as England will win this match.

I'm an Englishman who has lived in Wales for the last 15years I always support Wales apart for one match a year and this is it, and yes I will be singing both Anthems.

For those who wish to practice the song.
