Boy and Dog...
...can get into more than twice as much trouble as either boy or dog on their own! Add Noah into the mix and the potential for trouble rises exponentially!
I hadn't got a successful blip today...successive attempts with Noah had been either too blurry or minus Noah, who moves like lightning! So I sneaked up on H and Archie, lolling around at the top of the stairs. H was happy to pose but Archie turned his head away. A camera-shy dog...who'd have thought it!
We had a visit from the RSPCA last night! A very nice lady knocked and said they'd had a complaint about a dog living at our address. He was left outside all the time...24 hours per day in fact. The dog in question was snoring in front of an open fire at the time of her visit and the RSPCA lady looked very confused. We invited her in and showed her his bed, and the expensive outside run and kennel we had built, which he never uses because he's such a weather lightweight...'Oh no a raindrop...let me in NOW!'
She was a bit embarrassed actually. The only thing we think of is that a public footpath runs behind the fence at the top of the garden. Archie is often out very early. He starts asking to go out around 5.30am, when I get up for Noah. We don't turn all the lights on at that time so Noah doesn't start thinking...YAY stupid o'clock am is *the* time to be up and about. We keep everything dim and quiet. We wondered whether someone walking their dog at that time (and there are a few) sees him outside and the house in darkness and assumes he's been there all night! It's all we could come up with...we have exceptionally nice neighbours so it's not them!
Part of me was amused. Part of me was mortified and part of me (the charitable part) thinks, well at least one public-spirited soul is looking out for animals :-)
Anyway the neglected pooch is curled up by my feet now looking...well...neglected and unloved...poor little chap.
Further evidence of neglect...
