Sun on spiky plant skeletons

I spotted these much taller umbellifer flowers a few days ago and tried taking pictures upwards through the leaf skeletons. Unfortunately, I managed to include a telephone wire which spoilt the effect.

Today, I managed to change my position and avoid the telephone wires. It was very cold but the sun was shining and created some nice accents on the plant stalks. I like the background created by the real, much taller trees in the distance.

A passing dog walker gave me a very strange look as I crouched under the plants on a muddy verge!
