Japanese Spoons

Today at work we had a Clean Up Friday as, due to new members of staff arriving, we need more desk room, which means losing precious cupboard space! It used to be that everyone had loads of storage, but due to more desks being added to the floor, cupboards have been getting fewer and fewer.

When one of my colleagues, who is the assistant to the Chief Executive of the company opened up her cupboard, she found a treasure trove! When the CE was negotiating an agreement for a partnership with Mitsubishi, we had many Japanese delegates over to Perth, each visit they would come bearing gifts. So in the cupboard we found a ornate fan in a fancy box, a lovely painted small bowl wrapped in a silk square in a painted box, a large picture of purple flowers in a green background, leather jewellery box with japanese writing, silk scarves, japanese sweets (jellies which were disgusting) and these spoons. I now have the spoons, the jewellery box and the small bowl. Not sure why I took them as it's just more stuff to clutter up the house.

I was reminded of this tonight!
