The way forward?

The way forward in Newcastle seems to be to demolish great swathes of the city and redevelop them into shopping centres. This trend was started by the infamous T Dan Smith who famously demolished The Royal Arcade to make way for Swan House.

So at the moment we are given tantalising glimpses of fantastic Georgian structures knowing full well that they will be hidden or replaced with the universal blandness that is the shopping mall.
