Patio de los Leones, Alhambra Palace.
Although the lion patio is being restored at present and if you look carefully you can see some nasty fences, it is still worth a blip.
Up at the crack of dawn this morning to get to the Palace at opening time to avoid the crowds. It was freezing! We wore all the clothes we had with us and still froze our socks off. It was worth it though. Fabulous morning. We did not avoid other people altogether but it was a lot easier to take photographs than during the summer.
When we are here during the season for work we normally only have a very limited time to go around the monument with guides and spend all our time looking for lost sheep, taking people to the restroom, leading folks overcome by the crowds and the heat to a place to sit down, etc. and we hardly have time to enjoy the experience. It was complete luxury to be able to visit this fantastic site at a relaxed pace with just the two of us to take care of. I am sure W thinks I am just as much of a pain in the behind as 50 tourists but I know he had a good time too.
