These fields
I managed to trudge my way to the middle of the fields, constantly sinking into a kneehigh snow. Felt totally isolated all by myself, no one else within sight. And also because it was constantly snowing, as it had been since last night, absorbing all the background noise.
After a while I could spot one other person proceeding in a steady pace in the snow and over these old fields. He was obviously much smarter than me as because of his skis he didn't sink nearly as much as I did. He seemed to be there just for fun, making a loop and then returning another route. There's plenty of good machine made ski trails in the area but I guess his idea of skiing was not to be imprisoned by the ready made easy choises.
