Cold Day; Cold War

Decided to take a look at Greenham Common on my way back from the weekly food shop. The base, missiles and protesters are long gone, happily.

Although the base closed down 8 years ago, and has been open to the public for years, I'd not previously been down to take a look.

The runway (previously the longest in Europe) is gone, and the place has been landscaped to an extent. There are some Cold War relics left though, including the control tower and this fire hydrant.
