Colour Accidents

"There is a stimulating counterpleasure to be found in certain metropolitan by streets. This is the restless, cacaphonic design created by time, the weather, neglect, and the fine hand of delinquent youth. The bitter colours and ironic forms splashed and molded on many an old door or torn wall have their own arresting attention." Walker Evans.

Evans called the colour images that he took on the streets 'colour accidents'. Today I was wandering down a local street and noticed a colour accident and recalled Mr Evans whose colour accidents I was introduced to during yesterday's lecture at university. I hope to find more colour accidents, especially amongst the grey days of January.
