Swan

Seem to have been all over the place today.Started by driving Alice into Waverley Station to catch an early morning train to London so thought i would check out the end of the sales. Result - I found a coat I really wanted at 1/4 the original price. The coat was in Jenners, no longer an independent department store, as it has been taken over by House of Fraser, but when I go in thereI can't help but think of my grannies and all the previous generations who loved the shop in bygone days. My granny made me wear a smart coat and hat (Fairisle beret) to go up to Princes Street when I was wee because it was such an occasion - changed days. Anyway, money spent, I headed home via Linlithgow to see the exhibition of three of my colleagues and friends. I was way too early for the opening, but had a good look around and then had to leave before everyone arrived, to head to the hairdressers. So missed the main event but enjoyed the work - time I picked up my brushes again.
The swan was one of many in a mass of birds on Linlithgow Loch, along with mallards, seagulls, coots and tufted ducks, and it came up close to see if I had any food.
