Edward River, Deniliquin at daybreak
Went out for an early morning walk with K beside the river - the best time to take a walk before the sun gets up. When I showed this photo to Jenny she said ... "that's great, it was worth sending you on those photo courses with Nick Jenkins and Tom Putt". I hope they agree.
The river is much higher than it is usually for the time of the year. The Riverine area depends upon regular flooding but it usually happens in winter and spring. However this area, the only place where you find the red gum tree, requires regular flooding and this year it got it (with many other parts of eastern Australia) in spades.
