You almost couldn't tell

One of the things I love about Edinburgh are the many areas of the city where you can catch a view that hasn't changed much ibn a long, long time.

I took inspirations for todays shot from a book Roz got of shots of edinburgh from the 30's and 50's (hence the badly applied mock sepia effect). And, with the exception fo a new building creeping in on th eright of the shot there isn't much to give away the fact it was taken in the 21st century. I used to live in the Dean village which had lots of areas with that sort of feeling too.

I've always thought new year is a great time to look backwards as well as forwards.
