Sunday walk by the Thames
We walked from our house to the local nature reserve that adjoins the Thames. As we walked though the reserve we spotted this heron patiently gazing into the ponds. I managed to creep forward but a couple of steps further on, he decided we were too close. This picture was at the extent of the zoom on my camera. I tried to catch him taking off but the time lag on the camera was too great - I ended up with an image of empty reed beds.
A good five mile walk with a great view of a circling red kite, redwings, cormorants, swans, Canada geese, ducks and blue tits.
