St Catherines Hill Christchurch
Had a lovely walk today somewhere we have never been as we usually gravitate towards the coast at Christchuch. This is from St Catherines hill which is further inland on the outskirts of Christchurch and provided an excellent walk over a forested area. We found a disused railtrack to return on after stopping for coffee at a pub, part of which used to be the station. I must bring my dad here - in dry weather he could manage the railtrack on his mobility scooter and he'd love it as his interest is rail history.
This view looks over the Avon Valley towards the coast with the Isle of Wight in the distance. Last summer I walked the Avon Valley path and had very few glimpses of the river over a 30 mile path; clearly I was in the wrong place...the views from up here were brilliant.
