Curious ducks

A bunch of folk went for a trip up the loch in kayaks this morning; when they returned they had to break a track through some surface ice to get to the shore. I noticed shortly afterwards that a couple of ducks had appeared and seemed intrigued by the track through the broken ice that the kayak-ers had left. The male followed it all the way to the shore and poked around a bit.

The female however decided that he was wasting his time and stood on the ice waiting for him. The track through the ice is the horizontal line behind her and she is staring in his direction. If ducks had fingers, I swear she'd have been drumming them on the ice. ;-)
