Tradition
This is the face of the beautiful 18th Century grandfather clock that resides in my office at work. The clock goes with the post, and it has been housed with and looked after by my predecessors, all the way back to the first one in 1888. (The clock was already an antique then.) Originally, my predecessors had spacious and elegantly furnished offices; but over the years, as space constraints have increased, offices have shrunk or been replaced by cubicles in open plan areas. The clock and I consider ourselves fortunate to have a very small, functional office to ourselves. We do our best (especially the clock) to lend this space an air of graciousness and gravitas.
