Look daddy... box!
I missed the chance of a great fox shot this morning.
I was at the open patio door shooting the moon low in the blue morning sky sky when my daughter walks up to my side and says "look daddy... box!".
So I said "Theres nice, just a second while daddy takes his photo" as I finished saying this I realised that "box" is what she often says for "fox"... By the time I looked around it was all the way up the lawn to the trees behind... when he's passing through the fox doesnt hang around... I got a couple of long range shots of it in the long grass, but nothing much good due to the range and the fact his face is away... Tracing back its foot steps through the snow it kicked up I found it went past me about 20ft away from the edge of the deck to the right while I was taking a pic of the moon. The shot would have been side on with the sun lighting it and giving it a nice long shadow on the snow!
Aaaargh...
Still no deer pics either... since I got the dslr they only seem to come when even on 6400 iso they are only shadowed outlines. I'd love them to come at a better time of day so I can get shots like this one with my point and shoot or some of the better ones I got last summer before I started blipping. They just keep leaving masses of foot prints in the snow overnight to taunt me.
Ah well... some days you get the shots some days you dont.
So in the absence of a nice red fox shot, here is a male northern cardinal sitting on a tree. He hasnt got teeth or a bushy tail, but he is red.
