One Day, That Voyage

And the other day, this came in the mail from our friends Gladys and Pancho in Daly City. (Mil gracias!)

This lovely object is now a most useful bowl/catch-all on my desk; it's made of laminated coco shell, but its graceful, slightly hollowed shape makes me think of boats, and voyages, and waves lapping at its skirts...
