Gavin
How often we judge people in a very superficial way, we dont take the time to get to know people the way we should and as I have blipped before here I am trying to make sure I dont fall into this as much as I have in the passed. It is a character flaw in just about all of us. So with that in mind....
I was out at the Art Gallery trying to capture a quick evening blip, out of the corner of my eye I spot this chap coming towards me, I dont say a word or move a muscle as I know Ive only got one shot at this and it better be right. I take the shot hoping its all ok. I get home and Im happy enough so here it is.......
The significance is the subject of this image is Gav, he works with me and is a real character. Ive been wanting to photograph him for a long time but he always says no. He hasnt even seen me tonight and I was only 8 feet away from him. Gav is an amazing person, an artist, and just so talented but cant recognise it himself and wont show anyone his work. It seemed so appropriate to capture him outside the Art Gallery with a very thoughtful look as he walked by.
Gav is the type of person we walk by in the street and dont notice but I can tell you its our loss. He is fascinating to talk to and has so much to offer. We could all learn a lot from our own "Gav".................
