Lost in Cairo
Aiming to cycle the Cairo ring road we set off with all confidence in Ed's satnav. The purposed 100 km route would take us around the outside of Africa's largest cities and give us a long ride with good roads. However it turns out Ed's satnav is shockingly poor at it's job.
Somehow being directed off the ring road and into the dead centre of Cairo we dealt with huge volumes of traffic and Cairo's many terrible drivers. When being forced to stop to fix Ed's bike, on a bridge, we realised how little protection our bikes offered, hence the look of terror on James's face.
The ride ended up being 132 km, slightly more than expected!
Other highlights included being chased by dogs through the desert, falling off my bike while standing still and loosing Ed... 3 times.
