A wintry Manchester morning

Thought I would capture the Beetham Tower from this spot in Castlefield. I have always liked the way this fairly new and modern landmark towers over some of the old mills and the canal, it shows a nice contrast between Manchester's vibrant current image while not forgetting it's pivotal role in the industrial revolution which brought the city international recognition.

I spend a while fiddling around with the processing as I wanted to try and make it look like a slightly nicer day, and also wanted to try to make it look slightly "painting-like". I think the results aren't bad.
