Paris Architecture 1

This is the start of an irregular series of blips with some aspect of Paris's architecture as their main subject.

These buildings (probably with apartments) are on the edge of the Jardin du Moulin de la Pointe, a smallish park dating just from 1992; I suspect the buildings went up around the same time. Catherine Furet is the architect named on a plaque. There are matching buildings on the other side of the alley visible on the left--altogether a very stylish ensemble. The flowers seem to be doing well in the current weather (ca. 8°C). EDIT: I realize that the color got away from me--too orange; this image should show them as red brick, albeit bright.

The park is very attractive, although totally flat (I assume it covers a parking garage). At the other end is a large, well equipped play area for children--the French are very good at that.

The Moulin de la Pointe was a windmill at the Pointe de Gentilly, located nearby on the route to Fontainebleau (the former name of the Avenue d'Italie). It's near the southern edge of modern Paris, in the 13th Arrondissement.
