The secret back quad
University College is quite a maze. So picturesque.
I took quite a few as I stood and ate my tuna sandwich and watched the sun and the stark trees against the snow. There's a tower to the left of this photo and more colonnades behind where I'm standing.
I felt full of energy on Monday. I rushed out in time to pick up half price film from one of the directors of the Vic photo society. Really great deal.
Enjoyed French class lots, actually - film studies and talking about book to film adaptation in French. Then discussion of education as 'un droit ou une privelege.'
In Gilmour's class we finished Belle de Jour and I still find I can't form opinions on it, it was just too mind blowing. Wow, Luis Bunuel was quite some man.
I went off to a meeting by the Organisation of Latin American Students about helping offer services such as English courses as well as money for bicycles and other equipment to migrant workers. They come from Central America and work on farms around Ontario in conditions that were described to me as being like 'modern day slavery.'
I am still questioning where and even whether I can find a genuine openness to humanitarian work. Everything with a cause that I have thrown myself into so far has been so tempered with individualism and self gratification. I don't want to lose faith in charity work.
