Something Blue

As promised, Istedgade Denmark's answer to Soho, except it's only one street (and a couple of side streets). Within 500 meters you can find the main train station and, in another direction, you can find the equivalent of Scotland Yard and yet it is the seediest area in Copenhagen (not the most dangerous but I felt nervous having a good night out hanging round my neck).

So,.... as promised, I am going to try a few entries from around here (as long as my nerve and subject matter permit). For those who havn't yet gone large and left in disgust.....

A ban on pornographic literature was lifted in 1967. In 1969, Denmark became the first country in the world to legalize pornography. People in Denmark have free access to pornography; it is sold in most convenience stores, and is available for purchase or rental in practically every video store, including Blockbuster.

This street acutally holds a lot of history inculding a vailant effort in WWII. So more blips and more history to come.
