Eagle Tree

This tree is a long dead Douglas Fir and provides our local bald eagles with a vantage point to survey the harbour.

It will be taken down in a few years because it is close to several residences and could cause severe damage if it fell in a storm. So far I have not heard any desire to remove the tree, so... I and the eagles will enjoy it as long as possible.
