Sole sentinel

I liked the set up of this photo and I'm reasonably happy with it but would have liked the foreground to be darker to increase the contrast of the tree against the coloured sky. I think the remnants of snow along the field egde has been picked up. I must learn more about using my camera on manual to avoid these issues.
