Canada geese

Spent the morning in school with some 8 year olds. They are a delight and say the funniest things to me in confidence. It has been pretty chilly and overcast all day. We went to a local nature reserve this afternoon. An interesting spot, the reserve consists of flooded gravel pits which make a perfect habitat for water birds. The nearby quarry is still in use but the two areas co-exist very successfully. It wasn't a photogenic day but these Canada geese all trooping down a path into the water made me smile.
