Past Mysteries

Found this napkin ring lurking in a drawer, one of many items from the past. Had it cleaned and thought it rather nice.

I am told it would have been made in the 1880s, which fits as I think this belonged to my grandfather - Arthur born 1878. Now I am wondering whether all the children were given such a napkin ring at the time of their birth. In which case there may be 3 more lurking somewhere...
