From the top of the hill..

.. the top of Blackford Hill behind the house.

From left to right:

The Bass Rock
- home to 150,000 gannets - the biggest gannetry in the world. It was inhabited by hermits, then was a prison - including for French prisoners-of war.

North Berwick Law - just over 600 feet high. There was always a whale bone on top. The last one rotted away in 2005 and was replaced with a fibre glass fake in 2008.

Cockenzie Power Station - coal burning and hailed as the least efficient in the UK. Managed in one year to succeed in supplying 3,563 GWh of electricity and burning 1,500,000 tonnes of coal.

Traprain Law - A major settlement of the British tribe the Votadini. They emerged as a kingdom under the Brythonic version of their name Gododdin and Traprain Law is thought to have been their capital before moving to Din Eidyn (Edinburgh Castle).

A view and a half!
